Tahki Tandem "Atlanta Mesh Top"

Shop Tahki Tandem
Summer always seems to draw out the "Bohemian Chic" in all of us … especially in sweltering places like Atlanta. There's little that inspires drapy, gauzy fabrics like 100°F heat and 100% humidity. Designer Kennita Tully gets it! In her Atlanta Mesh Top she uses the amazing combinations of colors in the Tahki Tandem yarn to create this simple mesh short-sleeve cover-up. Wear it over a tee and let the breeze in and even the Atlanta heat out!

Atlanta Mesh Top
The simple all-over alternating YO-K2tog lace pattern is easy to knit, and the body shaping is accomplished with decreasing needle-size as you work up the garment from waist to neck. Then increase again as you work across the shoulders and down the back. You'll also use provisional cast-ons at the front hem and neckline that will be removed to be reworked in a stretchy bind-off. There's a bit of fiddly work, but it's a simple, quick-knit spring-summer project that you'll love to wear.

The Petals Tank from designer Irina Poludnenko appeared in the recent Spring Fling pamphlet from Tahki. The garment is a broad-strapped v-neck tank with a simple travelling cable criss-crossed at the bust. This collection contains several striking spring and summer projects in Ripple, Pixie, Cotton Classic, and Cotton Classic Lite.
Also from Spring Fling comes Shaina Bilow's Willow Cardigan. This simple open-front, short-sleeve cardigan is great for tossing over a tank or tee for a little added warmth at your shoulders or for a more "jacketed" look without putting on a heavier top.
Savannah Cropped Vest is actually an updated pattern Tahki originally published in 2006 by the talented and prolific crochet designer Doris Chan. This limited-release update includes extended sizing and is slightly longer than the original. Check out the pattern listing at Ravelry.
Also in Metro Knits, you'll find designer Teresa Chorzepa's Phoenix Tunic knit in Tandem and Cotton Classic Lite. Worked in three sections, this lacy tunic's cap sleeves are a basic drop shoulder for easy construction.
