Featuring Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity Silk +
Shop Serenity Silk +
Ease yourself into Zen Yarn Garden's oasis of hand-dyed color with the Double Diamond Shawl. Roughly triangular, this simple and elegant design incorporates small central-edge and bottom-edge lace panels to make an approachable pattern look masterful and uses just a single skein of Serenity Silk +.

Serenity Silk + Yarn
This design is worked in Serenity Silk +, a 2-plied blend of superwash merino wool, cashmere, and silk (75% Wool / 15 % Cashmere / 10% Silk: 500yds/100g) that offers stunning stitch definition in a soft, luxurious fabric. The wool provides a nice basic structure, the cashmere offers a little decedent softness, and the silk adds to the drape and sheen of this fingering-weight yarn that's beautifully hand-dyed by the folks at Zen Yarn Garden.

Double Diamond Shawl

The body of the shawl is knit on 40″ circular needles, though long straight needles would do if you're uncomfortable on circulars. The shawl is finished with a very simple crochet trim bind off. Even if you're a novice crocheter, you will have no trouble with this edging.

Skill level:    Intermediate
Finished size:    18″ from neck edge to center bottom edge
62″ across top edge
Gauge:    5 sts/1″ in St st on size US 6 / 4.0 mm needles
Materials:    475 yds (1 skein) Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Silk +

You will need one 40″ size US 6 / 4.0 mm and one size US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needle. Try the Addi Turbos or the Addi Rockets if you like a sharper point. Adjust the needle size to obtain gauge if necessary, and no, the length isn't important on the smaller needle. You'll also need a US C / 3.0 mm crochet hook for the crocheted bind-off and edging. Don't worry! If you have even the most basic crochet skills, you should be fine. We highly recommend the Addi Swing Crochet Hook for a nice comfortable grip or the more traditional and affordable Addi Color Coded Crochet Hook; both have the same nickel-plated surface as Addi Turbo Knitting Needles. And a couple of stitch markers would definitely be handy!
