Have some left over sock yarn? How about a single skein of luxury yarn? Well…here’s a project to make the most of either, and is great as a “take along” project.

Featuring a lace & cable stitch pattern, this scarf can be knit to any length you desire, or have sufficient yarn for. The sample shown used approx 180 yds of left over sock yarn.

The lace & cable st pattern is pretty easy to memorize and works up fast. It also looks great knit up in more subtle colors, or even a solid color.

Wear it like a regular scarf ~ or use the button sets to turn Asteri into a cowl, a tie, to simply keep the edges together ~ or whatever you desire. The unique stitch pattern makes “Asteri” suitable for men and women, while looking great in hand painted, variegated, semi-solid or solid colorways.

Bayr is a classic men’s pullover that highlights a motif along the top. Cleverly using the nature of the different gauges between the Stockinette stitch body and the Twisted Stitch Yoke, the Bayr pullover naturally forms a slightly inset, square armhole.

Worked in the round from the bottom up, the sweater is then split and worked flat at the armholes and rejoined at the shoulders. The sleeves are picked up around the armhole and worked to the cuff, incorporating the underarm stitches similar to working a sock heel.

A lovely and quick to knit sock design. A super stretchy, unique lace pattern created especially for this sock, spirals around the leg, and continues onto the instep.

This is a top down design with charts provided for the leg & foot lace patterns. Although written for double points the pattern can be easily converted for two circulars or magic loop techniques. Due to the very stretchy nature of the lace pattern these socks will fit a foot circumference of 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inches. (My leg measured at the top of the cuff is 13” & the ball of my foot measures 7 1/2”).

Originally designed for Three Irish Girls Sock Yarnista club, this design was inspired by the Giant’s Causeway, which lies off the north coast of Ireland. It’s an amazing formation of over 40,000 naturally-occurring basalt columns, now designated a World Heritage Site by...

Fair Isle-inspired panels frame the front of Jile Vest, while self-striping yarn knit sideways and accented with white adds a fun touch. The construction makes it an interesting knit while still being simple. The sides and back are knit in one piece. Stitches are picked up along the edge of one front panel and joined to the edge of the second panel, making finishing a breeze. A special feature is the neckline trim, worked so that it gives shape to the back neck when the hood isn’t being worn. When the cooler weather say “layer,” Jile Vest is perfect to wear indoors or out - under a jacket or by itself.

Keyll (/kaif/) Socks feature a cushy ribbed cuff & heel flap, with a simple textured leg pattern - both appealing to most men. Women will enjoy these too for ‘every day’ socks.

Knit in worsted weight yarn for a comfortable & warm boot sock, these are sized to fit a man’s shoe size 8 1/2 - 9. Both the circumference (leg stitch pattern is a 4 st repeat) and length are easily adjustable for larger or smaller sizes.

The gusset decreases are worked on the bottom of the foot, resulting in a very well fitting heel & instep. And included in the pattern pdf file are links for grafting/Kitchener stitch tutorials.

Representing “earth”, this shawl is the 2nd in my “Elements Shawl Series”.

Flora & fauna are brought to mind in the stitch patterns & colors ~ soft greens, browns & blush ~ knit in leaf, forest & mountain inspired stitch patterns.

“Majka Shawl” is a half-circle shawl shaped using 3 half-hex sections, without discernible divisions between them. The upper body transitions to a light, openwork lower body, with a lace border surrounding the outer edge.

This shawl was a pleasure to knit with the stitch patterns being very rhythmic and easy to memorize. There are stitch repeats within the section repeats so some experience with lace & repeats is helpful for this project.

The pattern is written with charts for the shawl body patterns. 6 oz of lace-weight, extra-fine merino were used for the sample...

“Menat Scarf” is a Seaman style scarf featuring a unique lace pattern inspired by the ever shifting sands of the Menat Dune Field on the planet Venus.

A provisional cast-on is used so the ends are worked out from the neck ribbing. The lace pattern is easily memorized, and with WS rows being ‘rest’ rows - this scarf would make a great first lace project.

I love this style of scarf because the ribbing not only holds the scarf in place, there is also no bulk around the back neck. The ends can be worn straight down, secured with a scarf ring or tied.

This stylish lightweight lace cardigan goes equally well with casual or formal outfits. Allow the fronts to fall open or close the cardigan with a belt, shawl pin, or brooch. Change it up to suit your mood!

All the shaping for Midwinter Dream Cardigan is done by changing needle sizes - no increases or decreases within the lace pattern.

The sleeves are picked up from around the armholes and worked in the round to the cuffs.

While there is patterning on both the RS and WS of the lace stitch pattern, it’s not too difficult and flows along fairly smoothly.

Runching and a lace yoke provide a pretty & stylish frame for the stockinette body of this fun to knit sweater. The sport weight yarn gives just the right amount of warmth and body to the knit fabric while the dolman style is very comfortable to wear and compliments a wide variety of outfits.

“Pelerine” makes a great project for knitters ready to start working with lace stitches, since all the dolman shaping occurs before the lace yoke.

“Pelerine Dolman Sweater” is the first of three designs in my “Variations on a Theme” series. The companion designs are Renda Scarf and Reune Fingerless Mitts.

A simple slip stitch pattern worked in 5 shades of a single color family gives this baby blanket a luminous quality, and wraps your baby in soft comfort. Finished off with a coordinating border & easy reverse single crochet makes this an easy to knit blanket with stunning results.

To achieve the look shown chose 5 shades of one color - light, light-medium, medium, medium-dark & dark. Simple changes in color can give this blanket a whole different look. Try using two related, or contrasting color families, primary colors or combining a solid color with a matching variegated one.

Chose a worsted weight yarn with a smooth finish for the best results. The sample shown was knit using Creatively Dyed Woodbrook Worsted Weight Superwash, 1 ball/250 yds each...

These socks pair a lacy cuff with a twisted rib pattern to have you thinking of springtime year round. The bright & colorful “Carmen Miranda” colorway inspired the pattern name.

These are a fun, quick project worked from cuff to toe. Written for double points but two circulars or magic loop would work too.

Skills include knitting with double points, yarn overs, twisting stitches and grafting. The length of both leg and foot can be easily adjusted by working more or fewer pattern repeats.

Not your garter stitch scarf - Winter Lace is a fun to knit scarf with a twisted stitch pattern that is easy and leaves the impression of a lacy, double fabric. Your friends will be asking “how’d you do that?” This scarf makes a great, quick gift.

The original model was done in sport weight but this scarf looks great in fingering or lace weight too. The second swatch is 100% bamboo. Just choose needles 3 - 5 sizes larger than recommended for your yarn and work the pattern at a gauge you like.
