Firefly is my homage to summertime, being a carefree kid, and chasing fireflies. A lightweight frock just for grown-ups, Firefly is knit seamlessly, top-down. Sparsely placed eyelets gradually grow closer
to one another, evocative of a swarm of fireflies.

The top begins with a provisional cast-on; straps and yoke are knit in the round in seed stitch, with mitred increases. One strand each of laceweight and cobweb weight are held together for yoke, i-cord
edgings, and eyelet band. (For these portions, you could also consider using a light fingering weight yarn that compliments your laceweight) The lace portion and ruffle are knit with a single strand of laceweight. Delayed decrease eyelet lace, adapted from Barbara Walker’s “Third Treasury of Knitting Patterns”, gives the top an...

Love texture, but not the bulk it can add? If you’re anything like me, you’d rather not add any more girth to your body than necessary! Knit in an affordable light fingering cotton yarn, Hexa is a cute puffy-cap sleeved summer top, easy to dress up or down. There’s no way around it; this is a small-gauge, time consuming project. But if you’re as infatuated by 3-dimensional texture and pretty yarn as I am, Hexa will be a joy to knit and wear.

Larger sizes now available!

Jailbird is a lightweight zippered a-line jacket with roomy pockets,
shaped hood, ridge details, and rolled edges. The center front is steeked
to make room for a zipper, allowing you to knit stockinette in the round
for everything but the hood. (Alternate instructions are given for
knitting flat, with no steek.) Never done a steek before? Afraid of
sewing? Especially zippers? No worries. Jailbird includes full
directions, schematics, and photo tutorials for all this scary stuff you
haven’t tried because you were afraid you’d mess it up.
Skills you will need: knitting in the round, basic increases and
decreases, mattress stitch, and grafting stitches. All other unfamiliar
techniques will be covered.

I recently binged on 5 seasons of a glorious tv series called “Six Feet Under”. Possibly my least favorite character (although fairly entertaining) was Brenda’s mom, Mrs. Margaret Chenowith. She’s selfish, crass, inappropriate, and often drunk at lunch. But, I always looked forward to seeing what interesting outfit she might be wearing next. This sweater is inspired by one she donned at yet another 2 martini lunch scene with daughter Brenda. (Season 4, episode 5, for any SFU fans out there)
Mrs. Chenowith will be flattering on most body types, with its close fit, smallish gauge, and waist shaping. Your lovely collarbone will be the center of attention with a wide ballet neck, while the alpaca keeps you nice and toasty. A reversible ribbed lace pattern used for arms and collar will keep you entertained, while being simple enough to work from memory. Knit-in hems and an i-cord...

Plisse (‘pleated’ in Italian) is a finished, fitted warm weather tank. Japanese short-rows shape a gently curved hem, bust, and diagonal line above bust. Top begins with a provisional cast on and knit-in hem, and continues in the round up to separation of front and back. A smattering of pleats and fine linen yarn take this simple, tailored tank up a notch.
Don’t let the small gauge fool you; Plisse knits up quicker than you would think. You’ll be rewarded with a beautiful summer top that beats the heat!

There are two separate pdf files for sizes: 32-42” and 46-54”
Finished bust sizes: 32(34, 36,38,40,42,46,50,54) inches
(sample shown is 34” size on a 34” bust)

Gauge: 8 sts and 10 rows=1 inch on larger needle AFTER blocking. With linen especially, it’s really important to know your...

This scarf is worked in one piece, beginning at the lower edge. The lace border is knit, and then short rows are worked to form a long, shallow, slightly asymmetric body. An i-cord bind off is worked at the top, providing a stable edge. Charming details like dropped stitches and slipped stitches will keep you entertained during this relatively quick, yet enjoyable knit.

Lace pattern is in both charted and written forms.
