Javier features an ombre colorblock pattern on a close-fitting raglan pullover with three quarters-length sleeves. An open edge with a button closure adds an unexpected detail to an otherwise classic shape. Can be worn with the buttons in the front or in the back.

Stranded colorwork and picot edges create a sweet accessories set for winter. Small sections of colorwork make this a good introduction to stranded knitting. All pieces are worked in the round from the bottom up. Elastic is added to the top of the boot-toppers to provide support. Hat and boot toppers should be worn with one to two inches of negative ease.

These feminine mitts feature a decorative knotted tie, which also gives the benefit of providing an adjustable and perfect fit. The knitting begins with the tie, worked flat in Reverse Stockinette stitch so it naturally curls inward. The ends are tapered for a graceful look. Stitches are decreased and then joined to work in the round for the main body of the mitts. A cable accentuates the top of the mitt, while the rest is done in smooth Stockinette stitch.

Searching through vintage ski-sweater photographs, I was charmed by the idea of a little colorwork on the edge of a garment giving way to one-color knitting using a deceptively simple two-color pattern. Each round uses two stitches of one color paired with a single stitch of the other color. Thus: Two to One. Both accessories are seamless and begin with a small amount of ribbing to prevent curling. The cowl ends with more ribbing in the second color. The yarn glides soft and smooth across the needles, and the yak fibers will make you want to cuddle it against your face as you knit. Thankfully, the patterns work up fast, so you’ll be wearing them before you know...
