With a simple lace pattern, the Yarrow Tunic is an easy knit, with a slightly A-lined top and plenty of flow. It is made of two identical panels that are seamed to create a boat neck. Knit mostly in enjoyable stockinette stitch, the decorative lace sections come in only at the bottom and at the neckline. This tunic is a quick knit and is sure to become one of your favorite warm weather tops!

"Hempathy" is a great blend of cotton, hemp and modal. Two different strands plied together give this yarn a slight textured look and the hint of sheen adds a little reflectivity. The softness of cotton, the elasticity of modal, and the drape of hemp combine to make this the perfect yarn for summer sweaters and accessories!

Need an extra ball? ... you will need some yarn to swatch ... maybe you are just a “tight” knitter? Running out of yarn can be a real pain. Getting more yarn, in your color, with the same dyelot can be impossible! Purchase an “insurance” ball. We're glad to accept returns on full, unused balls of yarn!
Michelle "Knit Purl" Hunter's latest skill-building book ...
features progressive lace knitting skills in HiKoo's Rylie Yarn!
Master lace knitting one section at a time. Building with Lace is the third book from renowned knitter and teacher, Michelle Hunter!
Building with Lace
This book has a carefully designed sequence of patterns that introduce knitters to lace work starting with the basics and working towards more difficult patterns. Following the same format as Michelle’s earlier books, Building Blocks and Building in Color, Building with Lace is the long awaited addition to this educational series!
All patterns are supported by Michelle’s excellent, and free, online video instruction.
The shawl starts with a provisional cast on for an applied border. Following this, are nine progressive lace patterns with garter stitch edges and rows of garter stitch between each section to give them each a nice frame. Beads are used in one of the patterns and on the borders. Once finished, you will have a gorgeous sampler shawl to showcase of your lace knitting skills!

Easy - Intermediate
A note on beads: Beads are added in Section #5 and in the borders. Look for high-quality beads with a consistent barrel opening. Bring your yarn when purchasing the seed beads to ensure that a doubled strand will slip through the bead using the crochet hook.
A note on gauge: Gauge is extremely crucial in this project from a yardage standpoint. Knit to the recommended gauge, the shawl uses five skeins with approximately 110 yards / 40g remaining. While the shawl doesn’t actually have to “fit”, properly sized stitches will use the recommended amount of yarn. Larger stitches use more yarn, potentially causing a shortage. Take the time to knit a swatch to assess the stitches, and change needle sizes if necessary.
HiKoo's “Rylie” is a unique, luxurious natural blend yarn. Linen adds a rustic look to Rylie, baby alpaca adds softness and the mulberry silk adds drape and a hint of sheen. Great for any season, this sport weight yarn would make a soft cozy shawl or fun unique top.
