Michelle “Knit-Purl-Hunter’s” Transient Shawl KAL

FiberWild-Michelle-Hunter-KAL-Feb-2018

Michelle Hunter's "Transient" Shawl Knit-Along ...
Featuring HiKoo's NEW Concentric yarn ... 20% Off!

Michelle's (a.k.a. Knit-Purl-Hunter) newest mystery KAL is a gorgeous shawl!  As with all of Michelle's designs, this shawl is sure-to-be well designed and very stylish.

Get your yarn just in time ... the KAL started Thursday, April 5th!

The Transient Shawl is knit in with one ball of HiKoo's brand new, 100% baby alpaca yarn "Concentric".  The yarn is named after the concentric circles that this cake of yarn so closely resembles.  Concentric is made from four non-plied strands, which create the distinctive color change. The colors change at a regulated sequence allowing for a wide range of design possibilities.

Pictured is a prototype of the shawl. This simple garter stitch example is in the exact shape of the Transient Shawl and knit in color #1022 Rainbow’s End.

The final Transient Shawl will feature different stitch pattern with each color change. You will find yourself racing to the next color change to find out what comes next!  Imagine how much prettier the real version will be with multiple stitch patterns inserted at the thirteen color changes.

As always, we're delighted to help you find all the information you'll need to join the knit along and knit the project!

The Transient Shawl Knit-Along started Thursday, April 5th, 2018.

Knit, Swirl – Coat of Many Colors in Mountain Colors Yarns

FiberWild Coat-of-Many-Colors Kit

Coat of Many Colors Kit in Twizzle or Mountain Goat yarns ... 30% Off!

Published back in 2011, Sandra McIver's award-winning book “Knit, Swirl!” has become a knitting classic. The hardcover book is out of print,  but the good news is its now available as a PDF! ... and if all you need is the popular Coat of Many Colors pattern, it's available as individual PDF!

Not familiar with this wonderful book? “Knit, Swirl!” is a remarkable set of eighteen designs for these unique swirl jackets. The basic concept is a series of concentric rings that create the collar, lapels, and front and lower back with one seam that runs from cuff to cuff to create the arms, front bodice, and back neck. All eighteen elegant sweater jackets are written in three sizes and are designed to be flattering to all figures.

The cover of the book shows the Coat of Many Colors ... perhaps the most knit design in the book. We have kits for this design in both Mountain Goat and Twizzle yarns from Mountain Colors!
