The kit is a beautiful blend of three colors of Serenity Silk Single. Two colors are in half-skein put ups and the third is a full skein. We have crafted four colorways that you're going to love!
The cowl is knit by alternating two colors in a bias-knit interrupted rib pattern. It is then bordered on both sides in the third colorway.

Seek balance with our "String Mandala Socks" ...
Featuring Schoppel Woole's Zauberball Crazy yarn
Our next exciting travel destination takes us to the colorful region of Tibet! The home of the Himalaya Mountains and Mount Everest, Tibet is the highest region on earth, and offers stunning high-altitude views.
Its rich culture is closely tied to Tibetan Buddhism, the dominant religion, and it's symbols show up everywhere in the culture including art, music, and festivals.
One of the primary symbols in Tibetan Buddhism is the beautiful and colorful mandala, and we pay tribute to this colorful figure with Amy's String Mandala socks! Mandala literally means "circle" in Sanskrit, but within Buddhism, it is symbolic of the universe, and can be an aid in meditation. It's basic form is symmetrical and balanced and consists of circles and squares moving out from a center point, often with four gates on the sides. More pictures of Tibetan Mandalas (Google Images).
The unique String Mandala Socks reflect the traditional circular mandala with simple colorwork and a self-striping yarn ... the effect is ... well, ethereal !
Thank you to Sue for your suggestion of a Tibetan Mandala that inspired this month's sock!
String Mandala Sock Kits

The spectacular colorwork of these socks is deceptively simple. Only two colors are used - a solid color and a self-striping color - to create these unique and fun socks.
Worked from the top down, you start with a little ribbing, then you create the beautiful mandala on the top of the leg using stranded colorwork. Then knit in the rest of the way down to the toes, letting the self-striping Zauberball Crazy yarn do all fabulous color shifting for you. Throw in a eye of partridge heel and these socks will be ready for your next Himalayan travel adventure!
Schoppel Wolle's Zauberball Crazy
Schoppel Wolle's “Zauberball Crazy” is a superwash wool and nylon blend yarn dyed in crazy, fun color combinations! Two differently colored plies join together to give this yarn a sometimes marled look that is also self-striping. An excellent yarn for socks, Zauberball Crazy also looks good as a fun shawl or other colorful accessory!
Amy needed a bit of solid color yarn for the Mandala colorwork, and Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity Silk Single proved to be the perfect match for the Zauberball Crazy. Approximately 25g / 100 yards of Serenity Silk Single is included in our easy to shop kits ... take a look at all the terrific colorways below!
