Explore Grand Canyon in our "Colorado River Socks" ...
Featuring Dream in Color's Smooshy with Cashmere yarn!
The Grand Canyon in northern Arizona, is one of the largest canyons on earth. The immensity of its landscape is hard to grasp … even when viewed from the best vantage points accessible in Grand Canyon National Park!
At the heart of the 277 mile long canyon runs the Colorado River, whose course through the area was established 5 to 6 million years ago. Since then, the river has been at work creating depths over a mile deep and widths up to 18 miles wide ... and it's still going! It is no surprise that this awe-inspiring canyon is a holy site for the Native Americans who have continuously inhabited the area for thousands of years.
The Colorado River Socks pay homage to the powerful river that helped shape this natural wonder. To celebrate one of America's favorite parks, our friends Nancy and Veronica at Dream in Color yarns created this gorgeous custom color reflecting the beautiful hues of the canyon ... and then road-tripped to take some terrific pictures!

This is framed on each side with a lace chevron stitch reminiscent of the many layers of rock in the canyon. The socks also feature a full gusset and a robust slip stitch heel. Visions of the glorious canyon and the river that runs through it will greet you each time you wear the Colorado River Socks!

Celebrating 25 Years of Mountain Color Yarns ...
Revisit a favorite project or discover a design you missed!
For the last 25 years, the creative team at Mountain Colors Yarn has brought us beautiful fiber in colors inspired by the Rocky Mountain West! Diana and Leslie each have a unique color sense. By combining their individual aesthetics they are continually introducing amazing new colorways that sparks creativity in both knitters and crocheters.
We are proud to have supported Mountain Colors in our LYS since we opened in Galena, Illinois in May of 2004. Watching them add to their color and yarn lines has been a continual source of inspiration for many of Amy's designs.
Creating new colors are another way we've enjoyed working with Mountain Colors over the years. To date we offer 15 FiberWild custom colors in 10 yarns, most of which have patterns Amy specifically designed to show off their gorgeous hues!
