Celebrating 25 Years of Mountain Color Yarns ...
Revisit a favorite project or discover a design you missed!
For the last 25 years, the creative team at Mountain Colors Yarn has brought us beautiful fiber in colors inspired by the Rocky Mountain West! Diana and Leslie each have a unique color sense. By combining their individual aesthetics they are continually introducing amazing new colorways that sparks creativity in both knitters and crocheters.
We are proud to have supported Mountain Colors in our LYS since we opened in Galena, Illinois in May of 2004. Watching them add to their color and yarn lines has been a continual source of inspiration for many of Amy's designs.
Creating new colors are another way we've enjoyed working with Mountain Colors over the years. To date we offer 15 FiberWild custom colors in 10 yarns, most of which have patterns Amy specifically designed to show off their gorgeous hues! Below is a sampling of Amy's "best of" designs worked in Mountain Colors yarns. We hope you will revisit a favorite project or discover a design or color you missed!
Happy 25th Anniversary

Get inspired by the surprising beauty of our "Pinnacles Socks"
Featuring Mountain Colors' Bearfoot Yarn!
The isolated Pinnacles National Park, 2.5 hours south of San Francisco, is famous for its towering peaks formed millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions. The unique landscape allows visitors to journey through oak woodlands, canyon bottoms and rare talus caves. The tall rock spires are teeming with life ... prairie and peregrine falcons, golden eagles and the inspiring California condor!
In January of 2013, Pinnacles was officially designated as a National Park. To celebrate this newest addition to our national parks, our friends at Mountain Colors, have created an earthy custom colorway reflective of the mountainous shrub-land in which the park is located.
A big thank you to Sean's brother, Neville and his wife Jayna for snapping some photos on their recent visit to the park!

Worked from the toe up, the Pinnacles are a versatile all purpose, boot-style sock. A full gusset and the slipped stitch heel make for a great fit ... and the instep features a simple rib for extra comfort. Inspired by the amazing rock formations found at Pinnacles National Park, the leg pattern is created using simple stitches. The result is a nifty sock for both men and women!
