Sophisticated Comfort for Spring and Summer in
Three Stylish Skirts
Shop Euroflax Sport
There's just something about spring that screams for lacey skirts, and we've got three great ones for you. Our own intrepid Amy Loberg offers the Kiskadee and Whippoorwill Skirts made in Louet Euroflax Sport. Also, we have Norah Gaughan's lovely Togo skirt that was published in Berroco's Norah Gaughan #16 pamphlet that's made in Berroco Modern Cotton.

Whippoorwill Skirt

This deceptively simple design alternates columns of Chevron Lace and eyelets in a beautiful all-over lace pattern that you'll simply love to wear. There's no shaping. Instead, the size of your needles gets larger from waist to hem to provide a subtle A-line. What's more, the Euroflax Sport yarn is so durable that the more you wear and wash it, the softer it will get without losing its shape.

Don't let the lacey appearance fool you. This flirty lace skirt is going to be one of those go-to pieces that you wear for years. First of all, it's surprisingly simple to knit; the lacey pattern is only 13 stitches wide, the A-line shaping is accomplished by graduating needle sizes between waist and hem, and the whole thing's knit in the round without any seaming. Second, linen is just plain tough. It holds it shape year after year, drapes beautifully, and softens with every wear and wash. Expect this project to be handed down for generations.

100% wet spun linen. Really, that's almost all you need to know. Euroflax is the industry standard for all-natural linen, and there's good reason. Wash it. Wear it. It only gets softer and more luscious. Great for men, women, and even children and accessories, Euroflax is the real deal. Expect drape, durability, wonderful natural sheen, and a beautiful palette of colors. And expect your finished projects to be around and looking good for a long, long time.

Togo Skirt
Pattern Available for Purchase in Pamphlet, Full PDF, and Individual PDF formats
by Norah Gaughan
Worked in the round from the bottom up in the lovely worsted-weight Modern Cotton, Togo's a simple and surprisingly quick knit. There are only around fifty rows of the lace pattern at the beginning of the work, and from there up, you have simple panels of Stockinette stitch the rest of the way up. This is a great casual skirt that you'll love to knit as much as you love to wear.
The pattern was originally published in Berroco's Norah Gaughan #16 pamphlet. It's also now available as an individual PDF download.

Berroco Modern Cotton
Modern Cotton is a light and airy worsted-weight yarn with surprisingly subtle sheen. Its multi-plied construction lends this yarn beautiful stitch definition, and the modal rayon content supports the sheen and is also very drapey. This is a great yarn for spring/summer tops, unstructured jackets, and obviously … skirts.
Fiber Content 60% Pima Cotton / 40% Modal Rayon

Care Instructions Machine Wash, Gentle, Cold. Dry Flat.
