Michelle Hunter's book, "Building in Color" is for the knitter who wants to build their colorwork skills
"Building in Color" introduces the beginning knitter to essential colorwork knitting techniques one
skill at a time, all while knitting a beautiful sampler blanket (see below).
The book contains 10 different colorwork techniques that you knit separately, and seam together at the end. Each technique has both charted
and written instructions and a special"Chart Sense" section to help the knitter gain confidence in her skills. The techniques in the
book are also supported with free video instruction by Michelle on her website
Pick from over 50 colors of HiKoo's Simplicity yarn! The yarn is a buttery soft, machine washable lightweight yarn
(55% Superwash Wool / 28% Acrylic / 17% Nylon).
To make the "Building in Color" blanket you will need 8 skeins of 3 different colors of
HiKoo's Simplicity yarn (for a total of 24 skeins). It is recommended to use a dark, medium, and light color for the best effect. The sample
blanket is called "Spicy Cocoa," features color #3-Natural, #18-Ghost Chili, and #20-Chocolate Milk. Your finished blanket will
measure approximately 40″ x 54″.
