Classic Elite's line-up of yarns and patterns for summer are terrific, and I am honored to have two of my new designs published this season. My lace and cable sweater “Diana” is featured on the cover

of the “Year Round” pamphlet, and my versatile vest “Bluebird” in the “Bird's Nest” pamphlet.

The “Diana” Sweater

Can't decide between cable and lace? Work them both together in the “Diana” sweater!

Diana is a modified drop shoulder pullover that is perfect for warm or cold weather. With panels of leaf lace separated by cables, the pattern is easy enough to remember, but has enough twists to be interesting. The sleeves have a panel of detail up the center, all of the increases are in a field of stockinette stitch. The modified drop shoulder construction provides an easy fit and simple seaming.

Knit with Classic Elite's Solstice yarn, it is soft and feels good against bare arms or over another layer. Solstice is a 70% Organic Cotton / 30% Merino Wool blend in rich, saturated colors. Click to Shop Solstice Yarn You will need between 10 and 17 skeins of Solstice for the “Diana” sweater ... check the pattern for sizing details and yarn requirements. We have over 20 great colors in stock, I knit the model in "Faded Teal". You can Click here for Solstice yarn on Ravelry.

You will need two pairs of circular needles, a 16" and a 24" Size US 7 (4.5 mm). I prefer the addi Turbo circulars.

Vests are back and “Bluebird” is the perfect easy-going style, and can be worn anytime of the year. It is a little longer with a bit of shaping on the sides (which helps those of us with a lower center of gravity). There is a fun lace panel that runs up the front center which is knit as you go. The lace panel wraps around the neck for a little bit of detailing. It can be worn over any top, belted or open, and even with a small tank in the summer.

The Classic Elite Cricket yarn is a 60% Cotton / 40% Linen blend, in lots of popular colors. You will need between 6 and 11 balls of Cricket for the “Bluebird” vest ... I knit the model in "True Blue". You can Click here for Cricket yarn on Ravelry.

You will need a set of US 5 (3.75 mm) and a set of US 6 (4.0 mm) needles, you can use either straights or circulars. Again I prefer the addi Turbo circulars.
